Need More Recruits For Your MLM? Tip 1/10

This is the first installment in a series of posts that will help those who have chosen, as I have, to become part of a multi-level-marketing (MLM) type business. These tips can also help affiliate marketers, direct sales reps, and network marketers as well. Eventually these tips will become a video series.
These bite sized “nugget posts”, are intentionally short to make it easier for busy business owners to swoop in, get a good nugget of knowledge, and rush back their busy business life. These are tips that my husband and I have found helpful in our own small business.

MLM Gateway - Helping network marketers build their business

MLM Meetups/ Events

Have you ever heard of¬†or is the worlds largest network of local groups. Anyone can become a member of Meetup, create a group about almost anything, and start having meetings about the groups’ theme. EventBrite is similar to Meetup but EventBrite is a self-service platform on which users sell tickets to their events. For example, if you have a family reunion and you want to sell tickets to help pay for the venue and food, you could do so through EvenBrite. So, how can you use these sites help you to get more recruits, sell more products, or otherwise grow your business?

 Follow these Steps

Follow these steps for EventBrite and MeetUp:
  1. Create a free account.
  2. Search for groups or events that are relevant to your business. You want to find groups of people who would be looking for your product or service. I also suggest that you search for networking, mlm, affiliate marketing, or related keywords like these.
  3. Attend the events. Become a fixture in the groups. You want to be a trusted well known face in these groups and at these events.
  4. Give out your business card, ask for referrals from other networkers from other niches. I suggest you also offer to refer people back to the people who are being referred to you.
  5. Repeat steps 2-4.

*Some, but not many, MeetUp groups require you to pay a fee to participate. I personally haven’t had to pay a fee and I belong a a dozen or so MeetUp groups. Many of the events on EventBrite require you to pay a fee, but there are a lot of free event and low cost events. If you are talking about your business your ticket is tax deductible.
