Many of you who have been long time work from home employees, or WAH job seekers, have probably come across some captioning, transcription, or translation jobs as a work at home option. However, most of these jobs require you to have equipment, experience, and references. There are a few employers who don’t require experience, extensive amounts of equipment, or references. Rev.com is one such employer that does not require experience or references. You do, however, need headphones and your own laptop or pc.

The application process is pretty simple. The first phase of the application consists of a short contact information form. To test your computer, a will have to click a link which will send you to a website that will check the internet speed and a couple of other things.
You will be required to write a short essay about your home town. Once you submit the essay, you will be sent to a page that has links to training material. After you have followed the instructions and read all the material, you will be assigned a training video, which is a few minutes long. The deadline for you to submit your test video is 24 hours after you accept it. After your training video is received, it takes 24 hours for them to process your work and reply to you, you will receive and e-mail saying something like, “you have potential…proceed to the next phase.”
The next phase involves you captioning another video which is slightly more complicated than the previous video. After another day you will receive your on-boarding information or a rejection e-mail.
